Walking around Leichhardt

Walking HomeWhether for recreation or for getting from A to B, walking is an easy and enjoyable way of getting around in Leichhardt.  One of the main walking attractions in Leichhardt is the Bay Run. The Bay Run follows the contours of Iron Cove in a circuit passing through Lilyfield, Haberfield, Rodd Point, Russell Lea, Drummoyne and the Iron Cove Bridge.

Pleasant walks extend around the Sydney Harbour foreshore, including views of the Harbour Bridge. Leichhardt is also part of a much larger route called the Harbour Circle Walk.  The walk takes approximately 10 hours and crosses the harbours major bridges. Click on the link for more information and a detailed map of the Harbour Circle Walk.

The Greenway is a corridor that connects Iron Cove in Haberfield with the Cooks River in Earlwood. It's a great place to enjoy a walk and appreciate some of the wildlife that is native to the inner west.

Leichhardt's Out and About map might also be of use in planning your walking trips, and might help you work out how to link up with public transport routes or how to walk to places of interest in the area.
