Schools and Sustainability

learning for sustainabilityCreating an environmentally friendly school is fun and is a great learning tool. Learning about the environment can easily form part of your curriculum and is a key element of your Schools Environmental Management Plan.

This part of the website provides information about Council’s school projects and programs and provides additional resources for schools to further their environmental education and practices.

Leichhardt Council offers free tours of the Whites Creek Wetland for school groups. These tours educate students about local biodiversity and wetland ecosystems. For more information please contact Laura Wynne (lauraw@lmc.nsw.gov.au or 02 9367 9381).
