GreenWay Funding Cut
The State Government recently announced that funding for the long-awaited GreenWay had been cut, stating budget and design problems.
Leichhardt Council is working with Marrickville, Canterbury and Ashfield Councils, the local communities and Friends of the Greenway to ensure the State Government understands the very strong support the Greenway enjoys across Sydney and the need to ensure that the Greenway plan is implemented in full.
The GreenWay provides an important off-road cycle and pedestrian route from Cooks River to Iron Cove Bridge and most importantly it is a vital part of the integrated transport project with the Inner West Light Rail.
GreenWay Festival
The Save the GreenWay Rally will be held on the final day of the Greenway Festival that runs from 23-29 October. The Festival is a week-long series of events and fun activities for the whole family. A full program Greenway Festival can be found at www.greenway.org.au
