The Leichhardt Council Area offers a wide range of recreational facilities featuring the Leichhardt Park Aquatic Centre as the Municipality's premier recreational venue, as well as the Dawn Fraser Heritage Baths - which is the oldest pool in Australia. Leichhardt Council also liaises and supports approximately 70 local sporting and recreation clubs and associations.
The Recreation section of the website has been developed to inform residents and visitors about both active and passive recreational opportunities available throughout Leichhardt Municipality.
