A number of rebates and funding sources are currently available to make your home more water efficient. Please check the provider's website for further details and grant conditions.
Household Rainwater Tank Rebates
The NSW Government’s Rainwater Tank Rebate provides funds to install new rainwater storage systems in an existing homes. To maximise potable water savings, the rebate is scaled so that the highest level will be paid for tanks connected to toilets and washing machines.The rebate is administered by Sydney Water in the Leichhardt area. An additional rebate is also being offered by the Australian Government under the National Rainwater and Greywater Initiative. This rebate provides funds for the installation of rainwater tanks that are over 2000 litres and that are connected to the toilet and/or laundry. Household Toilet Replacement Service
Sydney Water's Toilet Replacement Service is available to households with a single flush toilet. By switching to a 4-star dual flush toilet, households can save about 25,000 litres of water every year. Sydney Water customers can choose between a variety of types of toilets, each varying in cost. Household Greywater System Rebate
The Australian Government's Greywater System Rebate is available to households who purchase and install a permanent greywater treatment system. The rebate is being offered as part of the National Rainwater and Greywater Initiative and provides funds for home-owners installing a new greywater system. Sydney Water's WaterFix Program
WaterFix is a program offered by SydneyWater to help households save water and money by installing water-efficient showerheads and and flow regulators.
