DA Process

Council has created a step by step process to help you with the Development Application Process. Please read the following step by step information to assist you.

The Leichhardt Service Centre is progressing new initiatives to save customers’ time and money when making applications to Council.

 ELECTRONIC LODGEMENT OF APPLICATIONS

From July 2016, the following applications will be required to provide a copy in electronic format (USB):

Application Types
Development Applications (since 2011) Pre-DA Advice Applications
S96 Modification Applications Complying Development Certificates
S82A Review Applications Construction Certificates


Also, for a small optional fee of $50.00 per application, these applications may be lodged without hard copy paper plans and supporting documentation if the following specifications are met:
 

Document Maximum Scale
Floor and Elevation Plans 1:100 on an A3 page
All other plans 1:200 on an A3 page

 

The application forms and any lodgement checklists must still be lodged in hard copy. Council’s electronic lodgement requirements can be found in thepdf-new-icon.gif Electronic Lodgement Guidelines (PDF 120.1KB).

ELECTRONIC CORRESPONDENCE & DOCUMENT DELIVERY

Also from July 2016, all correspondence from Council (including Notices of Determination and stamped plans) to development applicants will be delivered by email only, to the email address nominated on the application form.

Being integrated with Council’s other software programs, this will facilitate instant delivery of most correspondence as soon as it has been finalised by Council officers.
