Local Flora

Leichhardt's bushcare volunteers have been returning native flora to our urban landscape since 1995, propagating and planting over a hundred plant species that were present in our local area prior to European development. Around one hundred thousand individual plants have been planted by the volunteers in this period, creating an extensive network of native revegetation sites in parks throughout the Leichhardt area. These sites provide important habitat for the many species of native fauna that can still be found in our local area.

If you would like to know more about the native plants that have been returned to our area, please select a category from the Local Flora menu on the left.
