Reusing and recycling
Reusing and recycling prior to disposal extends the life of products and reduces waste to landfill. Options for residents to reuse household items include participation in SecondHand Saturday neighbourhood garage sale programs, using The Bower Reuse Referral Service or swapping or selling on-line.
Businesses can visit BusinessRecycling, which provides options and organisations who may recycle a range of business waste types.
Extra collection service
Council can collect extra general household waste from residential properties or businesses who utilise Council's trade waste service for a fee.
Council’s waste staff will contact you to arrange a mutually acceptable time to meet and provide a quote with 1 working day of your request. Payment will be required prior to the collection.
Once the waste is inspected, Council’s Officer will be able to advise you how much Council will charge to collect the waste. Contact Council's Customer Service Centre on 9367 9222 to organise a quote.
Council's Transfer Station
Extra waste can also be taken to Council's Weekend Transfer Station. This service is only available to residents. Visit the Transfer Station page of this website for further details on opening times and costs.
