These problem wastes will be accepted FREE OF CHARGE for Inner West Council residents (please bring proof of residence).

  • Small fire extinguishers
  • Fluorescent tubes and lights
  • Car and household batteries
  • Motor oil
  • Other oil
  • Smoke detectors
  • Gas bottles
  • Water-based paint
  • Oil-based paint

Only household quantities accepted  -- 20kg or 20 litre maximum container size.

Please try to keep items in original containers and if leaking place inside a plastic bag.

*Dangerous goods and other items other than those listed above will NOT be accepted 

Additional charges

Additional charges apply for other wastes other than those mentioned above. For details on charges visit the Weekend Transfer Station.

Opening Hours

Saturday and Sunday

7.45am to 11.30am and 1.00pm to 3.45pm


Christmas Day, Sunday 25th December 2016 and Sunday 1 January 2017.

*Dangerous goods / chemicals and other items than those listed above will NOT be accepted.

Visit Chemical CleanOut at St Peters for upcoming event dates to drop off the following waste types:

  • Solvents and household cleaners
  • Pesticides, herbicides, poisons
  • Pool chemicals
  • Hobby chemicals
  • Acid and alkali chemicals
