How Do I Submit? 

Leichhardt Council would prefer you to complete your application via our Online Application Process.  If you do not have access to the internet you can still post or fax your application to us. 

 

To apply online follow these tips:

  1. Please read ‘The Recruitment Process – Information for Job Applicants’ pdf document available on the How to Apply page of Council’s website.
  2. Ensure you are applying to an advertised position with a valid SPV reference number.  Council can only accept applications submitted that refer to a valid SPV reference number.
  3. Council unfortunately cannot store applications for potential future vacancies. We recommend that you visit our website regularly, as we update our vacant positions as soon as they are available.
  4. Complete all the fields in online application form.
  5. Use a valid email address so we can contact you.
  6. Address the selection criteria and desirable criteria listed in the position description in your application.
  7. Attach your cover letter, statement addressing the selection criteria and resume as one document, using any version of Microsoft Word (.doc) or Adobe Acrobat (pdf). Other file formats cannot be easily assessed by Leichhardt Council.
  8. Applying for multiple jobs – please ensure that you complete the entire online application process for each separate position. Indicate clearly the relevant SPV reference number and position title for each.
  9. Check your application before you submit it.  Should you wish to keep a copy then print your answers prior to pressing submit.
  10. Once the application is completed, click ‘Submit’. An automatic acknowledgement pop up window will appear if your application has been received successfully. 
  11. Check your telephone messages and emails regularly as this is how we'll contact you about your application.

Troubleshooting With The Online Application Process

If you encounter problems with the online application process, you can email your application (following the same guidelines as the online application process – including the reference numbers) to the following email address:

            jobs@lmc.nsw.gov.au

However, please avoid using this method until you have exhausted all other avenues in completing the online application process. If you would like to report a fault with the online application process, please email the webmaster@lmc.nsw.gov.au.

If you do not have access to the Internet and you would like to apply for an advertised position, please use the following methods:

Whichever method of lodgement you are using, please ensure that the SPV number (reference number for the position applying) is quoted and can be clearly seen on your application.

It is your responsibility to ensure that you have attached all of the relevant documents to your email.   Due to the high volume of applications received, it is not possible for Leichhardt Council to assess if you have attached all documentation.

However, your application will be checked to ensure that we are able to open any documents which are attached.  Please be assured that if a problem is encountered with opening any attachments, we will contact you.
