Fair Trade Fortnight

In May 2010 the Leichhardt Municipality was accredited as a Fair Trade Community. The accreditation was awarded to Council by the Fair Trade Association of Australia and New Zealand (FTAANZ), as part of the national celebrations for Fair Trade Fortnight 2010.

In 2012, Fair Trade Fortnight will take place Saturday 5 – Sunday 20 May 2012.

Fair Trade Fortnight is Australia’s biggest annual celebration of all things Fair Trade and celebrates the life-changing difference our Fair Trade choices make for millions farmers, producers, their families and communities in developing countries.

To celebrate Fair Trade Fortnight 2012, Leichhardt Council will present a small showcase of Fair Trade products by organisations and businesses committed to the Fair Trade movement on Saturday 5 May 2012 at Loyalty Square, Balmain from 10am – 2pm.
