Memorandum of Understanding

In May 2014, the NSW State Government presented Council with a draft Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the Parramatta Road Urban Renewal Project.

The draft MoU was created to establish the working arrangements between the NSW State Government and Local Councils for each of the corridor’s three precincts:

  • Western Precinct (Parramatta, Auburn and Holroyd);
  • Central Precinct (Canada Bay, Burwood, Ashfield, Leichhardt and Marrickville); and
  • Eastern Precinct (Sydney City).

The aim of the MoU is to:

  • develop precinct based working groups;
  • establish the Parramatta Road Mayors Group;
  • define working arrangements for the State and Local Government Partnering Groups;
  • outline the roles, responsibilities and accountabilities of the Integrated Project Team; and
  • propose longer term involvement of Local Government in statutory planning for the corridor and long term precinct planning for Parramatta Road.
