Community Events Program
Council is committed to encouraging various community initiatives, supporting and developing the skills of our local community organisations/groups to deliver high quality and innovative community events for the wider community to participate in and enjoy.
Each year, Council allocates an annual budget towards this. In 2009/2010, Council allocated $45,000 for general Community Events Funding Program.
Based on Council’s adopted Community Events Program Guidelines, family focussed Council organised events will be given priority from the annual community events budget. As well, there will be two funding rounds in June/July and January/February, where Council will call for expressions of interest from local community organisations/groups, to sponsor community organised events. Council will advertise these funding rounds in the local newspaper in the weeks leading up to the close by date.
