AMENDMENT No.16 TO LEICHHARDT LOCAL ENVIRONMENTAL PLAN 2000 AND LEICHHARDT DEVELOPMENT CONTROL PLAN 2000 -
BALMAIN LEAGUES CLUB PROPERTIES
Leichhardt Local Environmental Plan 2000 (Amendment No. 16) was gazetted Friday 29 August 2008 [NSW Government Gazette No. 106].
The plan amends the Leichhardt LEP 2000 to allow higher density mixed use development comprising residential, commercial and retail development on the Balmain Leagues Club land, but only if certain development standards and objectives are met, including in relation to floor space ratio. land uses and building heights.
it applies to the following land:
(a) 138 - 152 Victoria Road, Rozelle (being Lot 1, DP 528045)
(b) 154 - 156 Victoria Road, Rozelle (being Lot 1, DP 109047)
(c) 697 Darling Street, Rozelle (being Lot 104, DP 733658)
(d) 1 - 7 Waterloo Street, Rozelle (being Lots 101 and 102, DP 629133, Lots 37 and 38, DP 421 and Lot 36, DP 190866)
Development Control Plan (DCP) Amendment No. 15 becomes operational as of 26 August 2008. It introduces a new Part D to the Leichhardt DCP 2000 relating to Site Specific Controls. It currently provides a planning and urban design framework to guide the redevelopment of the Balmain Leagues Club Precinct.
Properties to which this development control plan amendment applies are:
- 138 - 152 Victoria Road, Rozelle (being Lot 1 DP 528045)
- 154 - 156 Victoria Road, Rozelle (being Lot 1 DP 109047)
- 697 Darling Street, Rozelle (being Lot 104 DP 733658)
- 1 - 7 Waterloo Street, Rozelle (being Lots 101 & 102 DP629133, Lot 37 & 38 DP 421, and Lot 36 DP190866)

Council at an Extraordinary Meeting on Tuesday 3 June 2008 considered a report in relation to the draft Leichhardt Local Environmental Plan 2000 Amendment No.16 and draft amendment to Leichhardt Development Control Plan 2000. These draft amendments relate to the Balmain Leagues Properties.
Council also considered a report in relation to the Tigers' Voluntary Planning Agreement.
