Leichhardt Council is committed to assisting and supporting the well being of its older residents wherever possible. Council’s social plan highlights the valuable contribution made by older people in our community and identifies how council, other government agencies and the wider community can work together to address the needs of this group. Continuous improvements to its buildings and facilities, including community centres, parks and footpaths and the ongoing review and development of activities and programs are some of the ways that Council is doing this.
A wide range of community and government services are available to assist older people, people with a disability and their carers to live at home for as long as possible or to seek alternate care options.
