Book Community Faciliites and Town Halls

Balmain Town HallCouncil has a range of community facilities and town halls for hire. These are located across the municipality and are suitable for a wide range of activities such as recreational and community activities, as well as private functions.

How to Make a Casual Booking

Please follow this procedure if you wish to hire one of the following facilities:

Tentative Bookings

You may wish to contact the facility contact to discuss availability and suitability for your proposed booking.

Complete a Booking Application Form and agree to the Conditions of Hire applicable to the facility you wish to hire. Provide all necessary documentation with your application which may include:

  • Public Liability Insurance (if hiring the facility for more than 11 times per year)
  • Copy of Liquor Licence (if selling alcohol)
  • Proof of RSA for nominated attendee (if serving alcohol at a function of more than 12 persons)

Upon receipt of this documentation, you will receive notification of a tentative booking along with a request for payment of hire fees, including refundable bond and key deposit. You will also receive information regarding how you can make your payment.

Booking Confirmation

Your booking will be confirmed upon receipt of full payment (including refundable bond and key deposit). A receipt can be provided upon request. Confirmation of your booking will be provided in writing. You will be required to visit the facility or Council’s Customer Services Centre to collect the necessary key/s and receive a facility briefing prior to your booking.

After Your Event

Ensure keys are returned no more than three working days after your booking. Inspection of the venue will be carried out after the completion of your event. Your bond is refundable upon leaving the venue in a satisfactory condition, as determined by Council staff.
